Not sure about everyone else but it enfuriates me that there are three or four common finds that no matter what, fail to turn up every time I go out, even though those with me on the same land find them! Until recently I had never found a love token, where as Johnny gets a silver one every few times we go out! I finally got a copper George II one the other week. It got me thinking though what are the other things we are all waiting for. Mine are relatively common. Highest on my list is a plain old Crotal Bell - never even had a sniff of one - yet over the bridge they can be so common that people hedge them!

Next on my list is a silver thimble! Sounds extravagant, but Mark (my other detecting buddy has had four of them) - me only copper ones!

Finally its a cap badge - I don't care what regiment. I have about 50 from my parents but I have never found one - yet people find them regularly!

Whats the find that everyone seems to get bar you? Be it a love token, a ring of any definition (Johnny & Mark! Wink), the humble pidgeon ring (nearly every time I go out!), fibula,  Roman coin, a key, lead bag seal, or even a plain old silver half crown (Peter! Grin)

Cheers

Neil

Wouldnt it be sad if we,d found all what we desire ?  I think thats what keeps me interested, finding first of something
When im out with friends i always ask ...."what you find then" or "found anything good" I think the answer id dread the most whould be ...."I found this beautiful Gold/Celtic Roman Coin"   Id think Right place right time just the wrong person it should have been Meeeeeeeee !  Tongue

When i had my 1st Detector my 1st trip was Porthcawl on a sunny New Years morning . ive never lost that buzz of finding my first pennys.
As long as i find something half decent Im Happy  Grin
