I know plenty who who would disagree with regards the greaty service comment and thats based on many years experience in the detecting game.

I think that detector prices might be lower if all those people with more money than sense stopped rushing to buy the latest over priced detector the minute it is in the shops.
If no one bought one at first then the price would have to be lowered.

Doug just gave me the heads up on a bit of news that could see a bit more of an open market, that if supply to retailers now comes direct from Ireland and therefore cuts out the middle man, this was posted on another forum by Peter at Joan Allen;

Minelab Distribution in the UK
It is with deepest regret that Joan Allen are no longer allowed to distribute Minelab products into the UK, we will continue to be able to sell their products but not supply other dealers, this is with immediate effect.

I have been reading the Joan Allan statement on a number of other detecting sites.

Iam sure that a few smaller outlets will shed no tears over this news.

Perhaps fathers days was just the start of something far bigger in the Minelab market place. Wink  Jerry.
