I think they could do with being slashed by another £500 or so Smiley - might be interested then, but at least it's a better price - thanks for sharing.

That's good news, it is an overpriced machine like all the rest of the top of the range detectors. Hopefully more machines will come down in price now and we will  not be ripped off to the extent that we are now. I know detecting is a limited hobby but the prices charged for  detectors and all the paraphenalia that go with them are extortiante

A good point Geoff but do they have the cork for the Maplins bottle which could be a champagne one? and you will not get that cork back in.

Having said that the punters will always have in mind the day the CTX3030 and other machines were reduced by such large amounts of money. Wink  Jerry.

Well I hope it stays out... to be fair its not really 380 off its more like almost 200 of as the JA pack comes with the 17"waffle coil for 1999  which is supposed to be 300 ish and they sell the basic machine for 1699 as"ex demo" without the waffle coil.  But it's a good start... Wink

I think your right Andy which makes me think that JA are still behind the supply and as you say the "cartel" will remain, I've heard from two fairly reliable sources that the CTX costs just short of £900 direct from Minelab, Etrac at £600 and the Deus at £580 from XP so with those sorts profits the big two would be mad to lose their control over supply.

I can certainly believe those figures Geoff. So much for a free market and competition...

Tried both Dues and 30 30, great machines I must admit, but took Geoff,s advice and stuck with what I know. The prices are way to high, even though their good, their only as good as the one using it.
I might be able to afford one in ten years time lol.
Big guys holding the ropes again.
