Hi Dave it was done but never published for one very good reason and that was I don't beach detect so when it came to making an appraisal I had nothing to compare it too, there are very good reports from people using it on the beach but these are generally on Etrac/Explorers and Sovereign users and these machines excel on the wet.

I use the Detech Ultimate 13" on my Minelab Safari, it is heavier than the stock coil, 11".

Stock coil = 568 grams.

Ultimate = 609 grams.

Hi the standard coil is 9 1/2" and weighs 580 grms. but the reason I asked was I like the M6  Huh and found it OK on the beach and pasture but thought the Detech would be deeper and would give better ground coverage. Huh

I've used the Ultimate on the DFX (dual frequency machine) and it works great on pasture, I'm off to the beach next week hopefully, so will find out how it performs there then...

I also have the Ultimate 13 on my DFX and find that it works very well on the beach  Smiley
I feel that I get a fair bit deeper with it over the stock coil, and it seems to "sharpen" up the signals (might be just me tho).
