Definitely not a shilling. They are smaller than the modern 2p.

I'd guess it's a commemorative coin but can't see any detail.

I've got a fake 1/2 crown at home - I'll compare it to a 2p, but that's what I was going to say too! They seem more common as finds than the non fake ones!
