You are right, the headphone connector has a rubber seal the same as the control box so I would assume its waterproof up to the neck/headphone.

All's I know is you can go out in the pouring rain with no worries....rinse it and the vdi under the tap when your'e  done!

There's no mystery or anything dodgy.
I think the At pro is great and to be honest, got really lucky with a good deal and bought another one which is virtually brand new with the warranty.
