best headphones ive ever used for detecting, have tried all the above and the MAZ range, and to be honest they damage and fail just the same as any other headphones
the ones below will last as long as you look after them, i purchased mine 3 years ago and they are still running good. even after dropping them into the river they still worked like a trooper.
for the price and free postage you just cant go wrong.

Sennheiser do make very good headphones but unfortunately the lead and jack plug let them down for metal detecting, 10' of straight lead trailing about is a pain and the use of a 3.5mm too 6.35 jack converter gives massive leverage if it should get knocked which can damage the socket on the machine also the lack of volume and minimal sound isolation doesn't recommend them. There are hundreds of "good" headphones out there made by the top audio companies but very few that are good or practical for detecting Undecided

i have to disagree with trojan on this as i had a pair of Sennheiser when i first bought my etrac , and when i started having trouble with them i tried contacting their customer service who were basically not very help full when i told them i use them for metal detecting , thumbs down from me sorry trojan
and they only have a 2 yr warranty might i add

A little off topic from the original purpose of this thread but from all the headphones I've tested and/or used the only pair made by a mainstream company that I would highly recommend are the Koss Pro-4AA, they've been around unchanged since the 70's so forget fashion Cheesy but they tick all the boxes for detecting except price as they come in at £135 Cry and for summer it's hard to beat the Koss Porta-Pros.
