There are many ways to keep the control boxes out of the water but all it takes is one wrong step or slippery rock and splash your in which could be a laugh at any other time but when you've just ruined £700 of machine a smile might be hard to crack, if your prepared to pay the money then get the right tools for the job Wink

Florida, well out of my comfort zone in water, not being able to see the target area is totally weird!

Once the 'locals' explained how to P/P the target not being able to see where to dig it made it a bit more easy.

I had a session with a borrowed Xcal from Bill one of the local lads.

looking forward to trying something new  Smiley iv been mapping out all the old hump bridges around my area and i also want to walk the river and look for man made changes .
the laws around river walking are not easy to understand as they tend to cover the laws regarding the land you would need to cross to get to the river and the river bank. The guy i asked permission from was suprised i asked because he said he only had ''rights of use'' of the river as his land borders the rivers edge.He said he doesnt legally own the river.

The law
Legally the water itself is not owned, but whoever owns the land along the river's edge (the riparian owner) also owns the property rights to the river bed. Under current UK laws, anyone on that water without permission from the riparian owner is trespassing. This is a civil offence, and may incur a fine or possibly a court injunction to prevent further trespassing. This applies to any member of the public, be they canoeists, rowers, swimmers or simply walkers stopping off on the river side to dip their feet.

The only arrestable offence is Aggravated Trespass, under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, where a criminal offence is committed whilst trespassing.

just be sure to ask the land owner where the river is, to go on his land and you are all good.
