Any ideas what they weird objects are?

I dug them on a recent trip where there was lead, lead and more lead in one area of the field - I have never dug so much on one outing and had to give up on signals with that VDI number in the end.  There were all sorts of shapes and sizes but these were some of the more interesting bits and looked as though they fired from something and had hit something hard causing them to splat.  I did find a couple of musket balls so wondered if they were related?

thanks Geoff, I did wonder if that was what they were but they seemed a bit big  There must have been target practice in that particular area of the field as the rest of the field was empty.

Excellent - thanks.  Somebody said they thought there was civil war activity around that area.  I just hope that it was targets that the bullets were hitting and not bodies as I don't want to be digging up old bones Cheesy

No I'm afraid that's the American civil war not ours the bullet shown which has three lines similar to yours is a Minie ball used around the middle of the 19th century Wink
