Went out detecting yesterday on a field i thought i'd hunted out.

Another Vicky Joey dated 1856 popped out, still on my silver streak lol Grin Grin

Next finds were the norm for this little field, lead bag seals, buttons, couple of Georgian grots, clay pipe parts etc.

Quiet for a while, when all of a sudden a signal that nearly blew my ears off Grin, i dug out the clod, and seen in the hole what i thought was an old oil cap  Angry, just about to throw it in the hedge, when i spotted the inside was shiny. A quick clean with the old toothbrush and WooHoo hallmarks  Grin Grin Grin

Turned out to be a Silver Pocket Watch case, done a little research on the hallmarks :

Dated 1804,  maker was a William Linsley ( case maker ) of 68 Banner Street, Bunhill Row, London  Roll Eyes

Now when i cleaned the watch case, inside i noticed someone had engraved / scratched a name in it, i have tried to make sense of the name but have had no joy,  anybody have an idea Huh Huh

Strange thing was, at the other end of the field, i found a little watch winder lol
