Leaving your tools behind can't imagine what its like im sure somebody will either hand it in or feel the need too try it out down the area and if his serial number matches happy days show proof of purchase and ask for it back. Hope it gets returned safe and well  Wink
I'd be all over the place looking from cash generator, bootsales,  buy and sell ads and sites even chasing other detectorist down the beach it can't be hidden forever lol

I've drove like 60 odd miles with my brother and when we opened the boot to set up he had no spade so we had to hunt down a hardware store in some village and a spade had a 25 quid tag on it and was huge I couldn't stop laughing it was bigger than him carry it around the field lol

Yes there are some honest people around and a couple of years back I was lucky enough to find one. I tried to withdraw £100 from the cash point at the Bank.  The card came back out and I stood the waiting for the money, it seemed to take ages so I gave up and went into the Bank to get it sorted.
I joined the queue and a lady tapped my arm.  She said 'I think you left this behind' and handed me the £100. How lucky is that.
I did leave my new boots on the track behind the car one day and had to go back for them and another time I noticed on the last check before I closed the boot I'd left my detector in the house.  Just proves we all do it. It only takes a few seconds when you're thinking about that hoard or the nice hot meal instead of what you're doing.
There but for the grace of God. Wink
