Out PM to-day for a hour, found a nice clean trade weight of the round flat type, It weighs 1lb  and is stamped with a crown with the letter G to the left of it and D to the right with 1V underneath. mean anything to anyone please

Hi Geoff, Could you define trade weight for me as i may be using the wrong word, What i have found is a shop weight of the old type balance scales. Many thanks.

No your using the right term all right it's just the size of it, the vast majority that we find are up to 2oz max so one weighing a lb is a monster. is there a crown on it or anything resembling a coffee pot?

Yes it has a crown with IV under it and the letters G D to the side, It is rebased for other weights to stand on top of it.
