  Nice one dude...
  What causes the rings to snap like that?  is it the smashing against rocks?(thought gold was soft enough to give when bashed a bit)?   or was it damaged by you diggin it up??

weldone celtic the signet is 9gms Shocked and the broken band is 4.5gms.nice little pay off lol.
 a lot of the older 9ct rings tend to split or just fall apart when you get them home.
