I managed to replace the switch on mine, £5 for a new switch off ebay. It was a fiddly job and its a bugger to dismantle and re assemble properly. You need a very small point on the soldering iron to de solder the faulty switch as the soldered contacts onto the circuit board are tiny. Not an easy job at all and with high potential to go pear shaped if you're not familiar with doing this sort of thing, I was lucky this time, usually when I try to repair stuff it ends up even more knackered than when I started and goes in the bin  Cheesy

there i a chap who repairs detectors and advertises in the Treasure Hunter he might repair probes as well worth a try
