Hi guys I was just wondering if we are allowed to metal detect Cefn Sidan as I know pendine way theres a Mod base, anyone know? cheers

i doubt it very much that you will get permission,if the mod are there very secretive ,itching to get on mod land at caerwent ,but got no chance as they havent a clue what they have buried there over the years

I've picked up the link to Crown Estates beaches for you. The areas marked in purple are O.K.  but  I  know some of the others are detected by a few without any problem.
The sand dunes are off limits they are SSI areas.  The MOD do NOT give permission and will chase you off. 
Pendine is O.K. in part but is patrolled by a man with a tractor. 

If you chance it the worst that can happen is they will tell you that  you shouldn't be there and you pack up and go. It's so confusing you are justified in pleading ignorance.

Mr Dickinson from pembrey council said we are allowed to metal detect the beach but not the country park
