Well, as u guys n gals brace yourselves for yet another bout of wet and windy weather, i decided to post up 2 pics of some nice georgian coins.

the first is a halfcrown, found last week. After soaking in oil and gentle cleaning, it should be silver, so i can only presume it is a forgery.

the second is a lovely obverse image of an 1871 halfpenny.

totally agree neil, we don't often see good quality georgian coins posted. It will be interesting to see what comes along.

The only Geo III halfcrown I found was a forgery, but was much further gone than your example - it's quite possible that your Geo 1/2d is a contemporary forgery too - I think about 40% of them were.
