Rob, I know it's probably a remote possibility but IF S/West Wales were considered I could put you onto a couple of Farms where I know the owners are very open minded about metal detecting.
One, in particular, is quite large and he and his brother have recently bought another Farm close to Carew Castle.

Just a thought but I realise most would not want to travel that sort of distance any more than I do to the Rallies over the bridge.

I'm assuming you say this in jest as social network/forum evidence is as damning as any other kind of evidence. And that statement does nothing other than to show this hobby in a terrible light.

Well said Rob .... besides if galoshers knows of this illegal activity and does nothing about it, then its very clear he is condoning such activity and i seriously wonder whether he should be allowed to continue on this forum.

I'd love some more rallies in South Wales, even though I know they are likely to be quieter.

Just over the bridge into Saesneg territory is good too - it's not that far really.

And like some of the others, the Brecon area (there's a new fort mentioned in Current Archaeology, found because of a cluster of Claudian coin finds) - and also between Brecon and Crickhowell, plenty of roman and medieval stuff there.
