hello all
i was wondering what are the differences between low and high frequency machines  does one get more depth than the other ?
which would be best for pasture.

OK first read this and digest Grin

Right now we've got your depth on small items sorted out on to frequency, on paper and in a perfect non mineralised world the higher the frequency the more sensitive it is to smaller items, VLF machines made for gold prospecting run in the 60 kHz range, the lower the frequency the deeper the signal will penetrate but will only pick up larger targets. When we say large and small in hobby detecting we're talking about a Roman grot at the small end and a bronze penny on the large and the difference can be as little as an inch in depth. In recent years  the best all around frequency has been found to be 14kHz Wink
