I got the sad news last night that my good mate of thirty three year standing had  passed on...I first met Colin and Elaine at the Oxford rallies that they ran and later I helped him run....He was a  founder member of N.C.M.D . and later broke away with F.I.D. over 30yrs ago....To me he was Mr Metal Detecting and he was always at the end of the phone to help detectorists...His inspirational fight against cancer over last 12yrs was amazing....Nothing fazed him.......When I was diagnosed with Parkinsons, he was there on the phone to help me come to terms with my iillness. It was very hard write this, but Colin had a great  sense off humour and I bet they all laughing in that field in the sky. R.I.P. Happy memories Rob.

Although I had never met Colin, I send my condolences to his family and loved ones,  and appreciate all he has done for the detecting hobby over the years. God bless and may all the fields up there be ploughed deep and flat.
