I'd wondered about this as well. A couple of the UK forums have coin of the month and artefact of the month, voted on by members. What do you think Geoff?

What an excellent idea Digga. Forum members vote and the prize could be a freebie for the next rally.

Its something geoff and I have briefly talked about and we will certainly be doing an annual FInd Of The Year at Christmas. I am thinking one for Find of the Year on a Detectingwales rally and Member find of the year. Monthly or maybe Bi-Monthly is also another option to be included in my magazine article.

What do you guys think? any suggestions? Should it be categories {coin/artefact}? Should it be open to all members to vote on? Should there be a token prize or just the kudos? A trophy for finder of the year? A Christmas piddle up with awards? Tell us what you would like and we'll see what we can do. No guarantees at the moment, but I am sure we can do something.

It would be a real good night out Paul. Maybe a rally in the day - cheap B&B and then christmas piddle up! Have to try and find an ammicable location though or maybe do it on where the majority of members are based or some where accessible to most of members with spare bedrooms!

We'll get thinking on it after the Summer event!

Neil, how about "find of the Month" voted by D.W.Members with no prize as such(just the Kudos) & Find of the Year with the prize being a Free Rally for the winner. It would be an interesting thread aslong as Everyone played by the rules with no "shinanigans" if you get my drift.
I`m not suggesting that any D.W.member is anything but Honest!

It would have to be on a deserted Island or an old mod property so we could be fenced in. Kev  (casa dos) could be in  charge of security. Dig it could do the bar and Tafflaff is entertainments officer and I would volunteer to test the drinks to make sure they were ok.
