Hey Christoph1945,

thanks for the clear shot of your medal. It says, that it was issued by the REICHSVERBAND (a section of the powers to be) in the city of Pforzheim (a city in southern Germany) followed by a number (probably the number of the particular secton issuing the medal).

Mine does not seem to say Pforzheim. It also does not seem to have a number following in. It rather has a number 4 imprinted on it. But I can't read what it says to the right of the cross. on the left hand side, my find also reads REICHSVERBAND. Thanks to your image I can compare it and read it now.  Wink

However, my assumption about the fastening is correct. It did jus  have a simple clasp attached to the back.

Wow.... it looks like number 13 is nearly excactly what I found. Thanks for the info....  Smiley

it is not silver. (unfortunately) it looks like bronce with an iron shaft in the middle (that part of it is heavily rusted). as you can see in the picture.

Thank you Val.

Aaah, the picture that I posted is not of anything that I own, but is one that I hunted down on the internet so that you could see how an original medal looked ( in better condition )  Smiley
