Hi guys,

I am new to this forum since yesterday. I'm not from South Wales, not from North Wales not even from the Island. No, I live in southern Germany. But why did I join this forum then...?? Well, as a long time metal hunter I am interested in sharing stories and experiences with other who share the same interest. I#m also interested in reading about other peoples techniques and finds. Its a great hobby!!!

In my neck of the woods, this hobby is know (and practiced) by a fair number of people but everyone keeps to themselves. Mostly because of the unclear rules and regulations about detecting. So it is a solitary thing to do, and therefore impossible to join a community.

Anyway, I stubeled across this forum and I am simply blown away Shocked by how many users are registered here and how active this community is. So I decided to join in.

Is there anybody else from another country registered here? I'd be interested to learn more about the find in Wales as I did not think it would be a place where many finds can be made.... but from just reading a few articles here I learn I was way off!

Alright... looking forward to getting some feedback from you.

Welcome to the forum  Smiley

Regarding members from other countries, I know we have Moncó from Portugal and Bill from Lachine in Canada.

I am sure there must be others.

...we even have some members from England and Scotland  Grin

Oh yea... I forgot... I use Garrett machines only. Mostly the old type GTA and GTAX with the standard round coil and a special oval coil.

Even though they're not the newest or best machines in the market, it makes switching to a newer machine difficult for me, cause I know them like the back of my hand. Also, I really like the fact that these machines show me the depth on my signal (and it works very well...) something the Deus does not do  Embarrassed

Welcome m8
The reason they find so many interesting artifacts is that they are always crossing the border into glorious England!

Hi and welcome to the forum  Smiley
Where in Germany are you based ? I am originally from Denmark, but moved to Wales 15 years ago.
Would be very interesting to see some of your finds from over there.

Welcome on board LostyetFound - any chance of arranging a DW rally in Teutoberg Forest? Smiley

All joking aside, really looking forward to seeing what you are finding.

As a DW member you are now welcome to join us on any of our rallies should you ever be over in the UK.

We have quite a few international members who post regularly from countries including Portugal, France, Canada, Poland, South Africa, Denmark and now Germany.

All the best

it's always good to see what people are finding, and to share tips on detectors and detecting.
