I HAVE FOUND MY FIELD OF DREAMS IN WALES

« Reply #15 on: November 27, 2008, 11:02:14 PM »

before my explorer 11 i had a fisher 1266x use to use it without headphones,  didn t have any when bought, i was  dect. without permission,  on a small field in usk, the noise it used to make without headphones was incredable, the farmer must have heard it as he was in the field above me , i heard him coming on his quad, so i ran like hell, being a very nervous novice,  Grin Grin

Just bought a T2 this year (tejon before that), have always steered away from screen machines in the past, big mistake, I wouldn't be without it now so many options for the ground you are searching!
wanted to go for an explorer in the past but didn't have the money (i did own a minelab with the metal box 12 years ago but that was before the minelab explosion with the explorer)

Started 15mths ago with a Sovereign, original model with switchable iron mask reinvented as GT. Then Ace 250 with 12x10 [ takes it to another level]. Fisher 1236x2, love its silence especially after running my main machine a T2 red hot for a few hours, its a welcome relief! I use all 4 for different sites or reasons and have just aquired a Minelab Relic Hawk to go axe hoard hunting in the hills next spring. Ian

Interesting results - I was suprised at how many XP users there are amongst us!  Newbies - feel free to add your machine to the list.

My first machine was a Micronta that my mother brought back from holiday for me, total rubish but it gave me the bug, that was in 1975. I quickly followed that with:-
whites beachcomber 5
whites coinmaster 5
compass (something) lovely machine
fisher 1265x, found loads
bounty hunter
Tessorro eldorado, another lovely machine
whites spectrum (I'm still confused)
fieldmaster, it did what it said on the box
Minelab sovereign, x3
Garret Ace 250
and now I have a garrett seahunterII, still have a Sovereign elite and the Etrac.... And looking to get the Xterra 705 soon

The old fishing saying that "New tackle catches more fishermen than fish" i think might apply to me.

I use a Whites M6 with a S.E.F. coil , it seems to work well , and I get a much cleaner sound and greater depth than the original coil .
