The newsletters only ever announced new rallies. From now on they will be sent via pm. But until we can sort out the time out issue, just check the site. Postponements will and always have been announced on site and Rallies will show in the calender, top right of site page.  Smiley

Is there any historical info on the dig site from Chef Geoff yet, or have I missed it somewhere.

If its still on, I can imagine the state of ploughed land for parking and for that matter for detecting. No doubt we will hear the state of play soon. Fingers crossed.

I would have thought the ground would be to water logged for detecting,a lot of Somerset is still under water.

As much as I want to go out  Sun , I don't want to be up to my ankles in mud , so hope the right decision will be made!!!.

Me and the wife would be happy to go no matter what the conditions are  at preset -2 and -3 on the list, so we live in hope to get a chance. Huh

Fair weather detecting is much like fair-weather fishing. If that is what you expect, as Geoff says. you're in the wrong hobby. AJ

Not negative thoughts just sensible comments

I think rally organizers should insist on public liability insurance, and not just recommended it especially when you have soaking wet fields and dangerous under foot conditions.

I have never once been asked to produce my FID card on any of the rallies i attend its a waste of time having it really

Don't you just love it when you walk a few paces and take on so much mud that you start to moon walk....but my greatest dislike are holes that fill with water faster than you can bail it out  Grin Definitely looking forward to the Old Sodden dig, sorry Sodbury, anyway have an AWD vehicle so fully prepared for most things and get withdrawal symptoms if I don't detect for more than 2 weeks.
