Found this one today which does not fit into the other finds normally found on this permission. It has blue colouring ontop of stem, with the bottom which looks as though something has either broken off or worn away.
I have found medieval coins and artifacts here, so maybe might be of that era.

Thats what i first thought Dryland, but now thinking it may be a thingy.

                   I have a handful of copper maritime nails found in the sands at Talacre. Also called roves. I have stopped thinking of them as nails and now think of them as being copper rivets for holding pieces of wood together. The Romans, the Vikings, and even modern boat builders have used them in their boats. I see no reason why a land lubber would not use the same technique for something special that he was building. You may find more of them in the same area.

Alun, being in-land doesn't really count for much.  When we lived in Shropshire the cottage opposite had ships timbers for lintels and ceiling beams. They were complete with wood worm and nail holes and a couple of the old bolts for good measure.

Yours could have been re-used on an old chest or something similar.  Just as intriguing as the bolt I found last year with red paint dotted on it.
