Deprived of the opportunity to beach detect for two months, or so, I decided that perhaps it was time to put in an appearance on my permission. Had to cancel my detecting yesterday, so as to meet plans that the wife had made and then she went and had a major fall; the third this month. Fortunately, she fell between the kitchen table and the central heating unit and didn't strike either as she traversed downwards to hit the hard tiled floor. Luckily, she has managed not to break any bones and has escaped without any major bruising but she is now very sore and her arthritis is playing up more than usual.

Usually, when I put in a full day's detecting, I get someone to sit in with the wife whilst I am out all day but with things as they are it looks as if I'm going to have to hang up the detectors for the foreseeable future. It will give me time to work through my finds and see if there is anything that I have overlooked. I will also sort out my collection of scrap, ready for weigh in!

I will, of course, still be active on here and take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

                                           Good Luck and Happy Hunting

Good morning Fellas,
many thanks for the good wishes and encouraging words; I'm going to miss that beach at Talacre for two months and hope that you guys don't hoover up all the goodies whilst I'm out of action. If you bump into Richie Sixpence down there; look after him till I get back in March.

Hi Chris
Sorry to hear about your wife's fall I hope she is on the road to recovery.
I wish you both a Merry Christmas and all the very best for the New Year

I went down the beach on Friday and they were doing repairs to the dunes after the storm serge. I found a few coins old and new and will put a pick up soon  Smiley

You will be greatly missed on the beach Chris   Sad

Good evening Richie,
just got back from Talacre after doing the final drain down and closure of the caravan. It will probably be March before I get the chance to detect the sands again. Looking forward to a fresh start after completing some research on the area and will update you on anything that I turn up in the interim. Have a good Christmas, stay safe, and happy hunting.   Wink
