On my last couple of outings had a couple of firsts for me a George 2 sixpence and what I thought to be a Georgian farthing turned out to be a James 2 Limerick Besiegeged farthing made from a gun money shilling anyone else found any of these before?

I've seen quite a few of the gun money coins found before, although I haven't found any myself.

If you happen to go to Limerick you can go to the site where the treaty was signed ending the siege in 1691 - I went there in 2011. They were the last coins struck (officially) in Ireland until independance. They're quite collectable, especially with the under-type showing.
