well the gt arrived at last and today was its 1st outing to a rally in Worcester .

arrived in plenty of time at the venue , dumped a few bits on the floor and swung the coil over them to get some sort of idea on tones etc , the chunk of iron didn't sound at all , ring pull nice and sharp , as was the odd coin etc .

so off I go wondering wtf have I done selling my etrac and xs , will I be digging iron all day ? will I find anything at all ??

first few signals saw me looking at the back of my hand were the etrac screen should have been , very strange , what do I do !!!

dig it , up comes a bit of lead , then a good 2 way signal , a George 1d at 7 inches , happy days it works  Cheesy Cheesy

I must say I was surprised at the tones , very clear even over deeper targets , sharp and high on coins and deeper and mellower on small bronze bits and buttons foil and the like .

lunch break and a few minor adjustments to the handgrip and a big thanks to damonkey and his inspector gadget tool kit for fixing my headphone socket in the middle of a stubble field top man  Wink

im getting into the swing of things now and the machine is working well plenty of solid 2 way tones and a few nice bits start to turn up , watch winder nice button etc ( pics tomorrow ) it seems this machine will punch really deep going on the strength of the tones , the ultimate coil was very stable indeed with virtually no chirping , im liking this machine a lot .

conclusions on my 1st day ...................... great machine , promises to be very deep ( soil today was very sandy and light ) stable and easy to use , discs out iron easily  ( dug only 3 bits all day ) and above all easy on my arm which is why I bought it in the 1st place , one happy guy .
