no wasnt brand new but was from mike longfield, i dont know anyone with sovereign and im way out in west wales the coil seems ok on pasture with sensetivity around 11-12 mark.

have you used the gt? could celticspikey be on to something?

i use the gt and find it a great machine.had a good few rings with it.and im still learning.try vol to max and sens at about 12 o clock and you should do ok.the only time mine plays up is when sand gets between coil and cover.and yes it does my head in.dont give up cos its a very good bit of kit

Yes I sold mine not long ago and never had any stability problems but as I said I ditched the WOT coil about 5 years ago. You really need to try a different coil before you give up on it  Wink

my sovereign becomes stable at the 11 o clock sens mark most days,stick with thw sov they are awsome.i use mine with a 15'' sef coil.sounds like yours might need a service or coil is faulty

Here you go but I would really try and get that coil checked before sending it off, as coils are non-repairable (other than the plug) and it could save you the cost of postage if the machine is fine.

Plenty of friendly helpful advice from experienced beach boys as I thought you would get Wink my GT played up even in auto, I to thought it was coil may be, tried it with cover of, no difference, went back to Elite every thing fine Huh Huh just my experience with it, persevere keep WOT coil if you can, good luck mate. hi sticky, I had the same problem as you turned out to be 3 cracks in the cable about 4 inches from the coil filled them in with silicone fine now, so check it out good luck with it.

maybe your leads near the srew plug have a problem like a break.simple to fix.or the breach your doing has loads of targets on it.where are u situated?you can try my coils to see if it cures it if you want.i have a nuber of coils you can try..dont sell your machine yet ,they are awsome.and will keep their money for a while.
