Why would a PMC Token be found in a Radnorshire field 180 miles from Anglesey.

I've found them in Bristol and Somerset, I think they probably passed as unofficial coinage in the same way as the French 5 and 10 centimes did Wink

Thanks Kev. Thinking about it Chef I found one down at Chepstow at a DW rally a few years back. You are probably right.

We get these tokens quite often in North Wales and they are a really nice token. I've had plenty of other tokens from England , Ireland and 1 from Scotland. As Geoff says they were accepted as coins due to the lack of small denomination money in circulation at the time. Nice find by the way.

Parys mountain was the biggest industrial complex in its day and the copper was exported worldwide, a lot of it was processed in the Greenfield valley not too far from me.

A lot of the blank discs that were pressed for the coins were also done in Holywell.
