Where to buy a coin tumbler?

Just been watching a vid on Youtube where a guy had demonstrated how well coin tumblers works for his regular dimes, clads etc.

Seeing as I've got about 50 quid in £1 coins that the banks, post office and vending machines don't want to know about because they look tainted and grotty I thought this might just be a good idea, question is where?

Any idea's chaps?

You can get them on ebay for a decent price sometimes. Be carefull though as they are pretty harsh at cleaning things.

you could just use them at macdonalds as they always take them or the other method I use sometimes is a coin bank machine in tescos or them self serve machines as they go by the profile and weight of a coin and not colour.

Yeah I thought they went by weight but it's been a few times now I've tried using coins at tesco's self checkout, the last time with 15 quids worth of bits and not one of my coins went through.

That moment was especially enjoyable because I didn't have any other means of payment and got some really dodgy looks from staff when they inspected the coins

are you any good at diy? very easy to make a simple one with a cordless drill for just the odd hand full. If you are any where near Newport would be happy to put them through mine. The ones on ebay are too fast I have found the ideal is overnight at about 20-50 rpm less than one turn a second.

just pay them in at a bank ,its legal tender and they cant refuse them.
why make things so hard on yourself
torn notes are just scrapped after you pay them in .

Tried that at Barclays, HSBC and Nationwide all said no.. vending/fruit machines don't like them and the post office has the same attitude as the banks. Not left with many other options other than to grab a cheap tumbler and see if they clean up

Even with tumbling the pound coins will be pinkish as it the result of the copper leaching out so it's not on the surface but in the surface

I keep all mine in the car and use them in car park machines. Most of them are taken ok. Very few drop right through.

or they work in the baskets when you come back over severn bridge into wales

Try cilit bang buddy, but on modern coins only, brings them up a treat.  Had that answer when I asked a similar question as a joke.. Worked though lol
