Hi Will,
still plenty of bullets, lead, shrapnel, and scrap in the sands down here but if one can be patient and work through the WWII scrap better finds do turn up. Following up on a signal from the EuroAce on Sunday, out popped two pieces of shrapnel and a George V shilling. A George VI penny also showed up along side a lump of shrapnel later on. I must confess that the ratio of gold to scrap is very poor............over 40kg of bullets to one gold signet ring over the last two years. The ratio of coins to scrap can sometimes be considerably better.

Someone even found a hammered down here at Talacre, but where are all the Victorian coins?  Undecided

Got to admit your persistence has paid off before and will do again (Your Gold ring)

No idea why no Victorian though!

Told ya the beach wasn't empty; found an active mobile phone the other day ( eyes only ) and will be returning it to the original owner on Tuesday. Also loads o' shrapnel, 2 X50p and 1 X 5p the day before. Getting a bit tired of the shrapnel now and will have to improve my research. I still think that there must be something more ancient hiding beneath the WWII scrap.   Wink
