Most of you probably know I am a Minelab Sovereign Elite man, Grin and will not part with it ? however I fancy trying either the Goldmax or Deus, mainly on my medieval sites (full of Iron) in the hope that it winkle out a bit more silver close to Iron, and have  a faster recovery speed? I would appreciate any thoughts, or your experience with either of these machines  Wink

I've been using the Deus for over 2 years now and it is an excellent machine. The Deus fast and Gmp programs will handle iron infested ground easily using the 9 inch coil. If you decide on a Deus get the full version not the lite as you have much more control of settings with it. I have found over 70 hammered  with mine, a lot of which I have got on very mineralised ground and I am well pleased with the machine. Hope this helps.

For the money spikey I'd go with the GMP, as you are used to the Sov you'll find it easy to adapt and if you really like the GMP go for a Deus later.  I've used both and really liked the GMP. I use the Deus now just to avoid the foil really but avoiding foil can be a risky strategy as you know...   if you go for the GMP get a straight shaft for it, well worth the money... the GMP will amaze you. Plus you can fit 3rd party coils at a much reduced cost.

I know someone who may consider selling his v4 with straight shaft, I can ask him for you if you like.
