I have found 100's of Vicky coins but cannot get any copper ones pre 1860 or so. Also  William vi and George vi are scarce. There is no shortage of earlier copper coinage so can anyone enlighten me ?

William IV is scarce as he only reigned for 7 years and produced copper pennies and halfpennies  for 3 of those, George VI I find a few of but the lack could be due to the way money is now carried or even mechanised farming becoming the norm. Early Vicky coins are scarce in comparison due to a lower number of copper coins being minted (thus the use of French coins as unofficial pennies and halfpennies).
I find pre-decimal coins of our current queen pretty rare and I've probably found more Lizzy I than Lizzy II in recent years Huh

Thanks Geoff, still got me baffled why I can find earlier Vicky silver but not copper. I must be doing something wrong.

I have got quite a few William iii and a couple of decent William and Mary coppers but can't find early Vickys. My old school reports were right when they said "must try harder"
