It was my sisters first go on the field today (she in now hooked)
She found this wierd lead object about 12" deep!! Giving her crazyyyy signals. Any ideas?
Field was occupied in Roman Times, Building wrecks from 1200's and war time training area.

I thought this at first but it only has opening one end. There was another signal in hole so will try dig it out tonight

Looks like a block end for a lead water pipe. It looks like it has a soldered join between the narrower bit and the thick bit?

Its the sort of thing that was used to block off an outside loo water supply. We had something like it when my dad couldnt hammer flat the lead pipe we had at the end of the garden.

As Eric said it looks like a pot end of a old electric cable or water pipe, have a dig in side to see if anything is in there, if tar bits of copper or grease paper its probably a old HV lead outer sheathed cable Smiley
