AR Counterstamp ???

About the size of a Georgian halfpenny, but nothing resembling that left on the flan. Any ideas anyone?

And who is (was) "AR"?

Unless it was just somebody trying out a new stamp or something, usually AR with a crown would be Anne Regina, but it looks a bit crude for that.
