Hi Jan,  looks like a slave bangle.  I believe hey were made down this neck of the woods during the 19th cent by the million.

Either that or you found a bronze/iron age torque. Wouldn't that be nice. Shocked Grin

I might not being very thoughtful but I would say some thing like a bridle check ring, what has worn through over the years of use, the item looks to have once been a loop/ring what has worn thin. I don't think it was made to look like that.....?

Well it could have been a nose ring  Roll Eyes wonder if they made them ?
Dale could be on to something but I think it's a bit small for that as well.  Be interesting to see what the PAS make of it.

Same both sides Geoff , I have found something similar in way of a Viking bracelet found on the Shetland isles, it is the exact same design but the Viking ones are made out of something else. Will find the link to the pic.

I know Jessy item is the one in question but I just want to show a check piece I found  with the loop worn right through just leaving the two pointed ends with the middle  completely missing, its the artefact what gave me the idea Undecided

also a picture to show where I think Jessy item sat........ Huh
