Just a quickie guys and girls, I met a detectorist  yesterday who informed the EL/HL Stewardship Schemes has been scrapped Huh Huh  I'm not so sure personally but live in hope Roll Eyes Grin any thoughts??.

Well, after a very quick look, I came up with this. Note the date 1st Jan 2013 - 5 new entry level options.
I had heard that E.U. funding was being withdrawn for 'many' schemes but don't know which ones.

Current farmers under the scheme carry on as normal until their agreements run out but new farms wanting "in" now have different stricter criteria to meet to qualify.
The current scheme doesn't really effect most detectorists only rally organisers Wink

I was refused permission to go into one particular field because the Farmer was concerned that if 'The inspector' came and caught me there the Farmer would loose his grant. I have no idea what scheme he was in though.
Shame of it was, that was the only field I really wanted to get into. Have since learned it has been scheduled.

Paul only the higher scheme has any restrictions and they only apply to land containing known archaeological sites. If there's nothing on his Farm Environment Plan then your OK and it's just an excuse.
