maybe A silly question but would detectors pick up them  small piece of gold from the bottom of rivers Huh as I have found small gold backs of earrings with my sovereign elite from beaches   Wink from good depths in wet + dry sand

First question from the other Post.
Yes there is a lot of gold in France. It even has 2 professional panner who make their living from it. They usually work up in Ariege, but the waters colder up there.
I work The Gard and around Anduze in France. Half a gramme for a few hours panning is the usual amount but can be more.

Normal Detectors wont pick up gold that fine. Yep you might chance upon a nugget but the one big problem with France is the lead shot. I kid you not.
Take a look at this photo. All that lead shot and fishing weights came from a hole in the river bed that also had a lot of gold too
You would be better using the detector in the river for coins.

I love the backpackers sluice, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you sell them for? because I can see how convenient it would be, especially for days out.

This is my current beasty....not even got it wet yet Sad

OK Firstly, Pon
Your wife will love it when she see the first gold in the pan. I tell you gold is the worst drug of all, but best of all women can use a pump and sluice and pan for gold too, its easy.
But the good thing is you pan for gold when its warm, they can sit and paddle in the river if they dont want to pan.

Chef : The small backpacker is £45 plus post, the Supersluice is £65 plus post.
