I wonder how many hammered coin dies get found detecting? if any.
Edward 3rd's double-florin would be a nice one to find Shocked you would only need to make one or two coins Grin

I know right! I cant say ive seen any being found!
I was quite happy with my Henry 8th hammy, after seeing them i cant wait to find more!

I saw this on TV. It was part of a program about the Tower. Just imagine having a coin collection like that. Love to know what it's worth.

I can't say I am right Dale, but I think it unlikely that any genuine dies would have made their way outside the confines of the mints. From what I have read, and learned from a present day enactors the moneyers would have been securely locked into the rooms where they were making the coins. The punishment for nicking anything would have been quite harsh .However, I do not see any reason why the forgers could not lose their dies.,
