I have got a couple of really battered Lizzie half groats that have been pierced. My question is should I report them as treasure or just have them recorded with the P. A. S as normal? I think  it would be a waste of money and time to go through the treasure process for such insignificant finds. Your ideas would be appreciated.

If you are recording them with PAS then your FLO will tell you if they need to be declared but highly unlikely as who can say that the coin didn't go back in to use as a coin before its loss.

Well I've recorded quite a few and treasure has never been mentioned. I think if you found a very rare example then things might be different but if your recording your finds it's part of the FLO's job to spot treasure items so just be guided by them Wink
