Got to agree!!!
I'm new to detecting and all I need to know is on here and everyone is really helpfull. I've been shocked it's not like other hobbies iv'e been involved in.
I was and am a big Carp angler and the bitterness and back stabbing has drove me away from it. Everyone on here is really happy about other peoples finds and more than willing to help  Grin

I couldnt agree more. Certainly guided me in the right choices when i started a few months ago.

I also agree with the carp fishing, the majority are a bunch of backstabbing idiots who hate other fisherman unless they already know them etc. Hence why im selling up and going into fly fishing instead of carp.

Without this forum i would have been stuck and also have a lot of items never knowing what they are.

What machine omg this question as been spinning in my head for ages.I did'nt want to dive in and buy one streight away and find out it wasn't the one for me so I have been really lucky and been able to borrow a few  Grin I think I am leaning towars a XP Deus I find it nice and light packs away small (great when I got all the kids and lugage in the car for a holl) and is quite easy to use for a beginer but has all I need in the settings to move forward.

What do you think?

Personally I say CTX but then that's because I own one  Smiley however there are a lot of lads using them now with some amazing findings, and frequent finds too so they must be decent machines. I almost went for one myself.
