I.D. Needed Please

Could this be a Trade Token ? 34mm and copper.

Was hoping it might be 17th cent, can anyone confirm ?

Hi Val, In my view it's too big for a 17thC tradesman's token and would say it's an older jetton, the markings around the edge don't particularly look like a post medieval Nuremberg type so my money would be on a French/English from the 14th/15thC
Is there anything to see on the other side?

Hi Geoff, if you're right that's wonderful news, music to my ears. Nothing that I could I.D. on other side, might have been but wouldn't swear to it.
I've been trying to locate the position of a 'Homestead' marked on the Tythe map for the mineralised fields and 'moated' area I've been doing. Local History group have taken an interest so would be great if I'd found it and could give an indication of age.  I noticed one small field with what looked like raised hedge banks, thought it could have been a domestic enclosure, also noticed it doesn't seem as mineralised so thought it could have been cultivated later. Have also found out the whole area was once part of a hunting woodland attached to Arberth Castle.
Still looking forward to getting closer to Pembroke Castle though, fingers crossed.

p.s. I think the moated enclose was a cattle shelter, just my opinion.
p.p.s. That would tie in nicely with some pottery I've found.

Thanks congerman. You have no idea how demoralising that area has been. It's hasn't been used for generations, I should think, till it was taken over on lease by a local Dairy Farmer. He's ploughed and re-fenced etc. I heard tell of a settlement there, somewhere, but no one knew exactly where.
The fields have been a nightmare to detect because of high mineralisation and I think anything that may have been there has sunk way down into the ground. That's why I was so pleased to find the Jetton.
Fairly certain I've pin pointed it now but can count on fingers the metal finds and have also found some nice bits of late 13th early 14th cent. local pottery plus iron slag and evidence of black smithy.(wonder if the anvil is still there)
Been a learning curve and filled in the time when I couldn't get anywhere else. Worth doing.
