Hi steve just a thought why dont you do a test bed with the 2 coils using different coins at different depths and record your results, that would be interesting  Wink

Just thought i would post my thoughts on the ultimate coil on my garrett euroace it seems this has been a little over hyped i have not noticed extra depth at all over the stock coil i have tested it in the field on several occasions  and although its not a bad coil i dont think i would of bought one if id have had a chance of testing it first.im going to keep it on for a little longer in case the fields  were over minerlised Undecided but my advise to people thinking it will make a massive difference save your pennys people and dont believe the hype  Smiley

A freind of mine has a Euroace 350 and said the stock coil is better than his new ulitimate coild and asked me if I wanted to buy if from him for peanuts ( I didn't buy it as I told him he will get more on eBay and I didn't want to rip him off and sell it on). I think you will find it hard to beat the stock coil on the Garretts by a huge amount as it seems a very good coil. The Garrett machines are not your minelabs etc but a good detector all the same out of the box.

I bought one for my whites Dfx.  I have to say it improved the depth a lot.  I always test my machine as I'm walking on my shovel.  About 8 inches with the whites dd coil and it was about 10 with the ultimate.   This is rough guide obviously, but I am impressed with it - that was before I bought the Deus lol !!   Now saving up for their bigger coil.

Take care

H

Hi Steve

As you well know i had the euro ace and not long after getting it i Put the 15'' SEF coil on which you purchased from me  Wink the reason i got that was to cover more ground up and down them bloody orchards, that coil as you know after a while gets heavy, i had no faults with it and was defo digging deep (if the goodies were there) also it was boosting the descrim of the machine and producing some smaller items pretty deep.  The ultimate for me was my next choice after feeling the weight of it!! depth etc didn't come into it for me, however after using it on the euro ace for a few months i can definatley say it was going as deep as any other decent coil 14''max, and trust me if its any deeper it can stay there!!.

But my final point is with the ultimate you should be finding that its nice and light to swing all day, you should be finding smaller non ferrous finds than before, hammereds should be coming in on a better signal and not as low on the guage, and romans not as sketchy as on a stock coil and definatley not digging as much iron, which in my eyes was well worth the money hence why i use one on the explorer and cant fault it, if its there ill find it!!

Regards
Nick

Coming soon ultimate X2 TWICE as deep, more stable, more sensitive to cut half's quarters, and those tiny celtic gold, what are you missing, buy one now before they are sold out!!!!! (always plenty for sale on ebay tho ???good product)

looking back at threads the sef coil was the dogs B******s in peoples eyes, is it rubbish now?

Reminds me of Gillette shavers, a closer shave, even closer than ever before, how close can you get before you need skin graft. Wink Wink Wink
