hi all, just wondering what is the footwear of choice for detecting in the fairer weather? ive had my fishing boots/wellies (wool lining built into them) on every trip since the new year but the last few trips have got sweaty  Tongue . i know that steel toe caps are a huge no no  Grin but does this rule out every boot with metal on? if so, has anyone got a link to some suitable ones. thanks in advance

any boot with a sturdy sole and maybe some ankle support shoud be ok. Have a look at army boots for sale on eBay or in an army surplus shop.

I wear Lowa combat boots warm in winter cool in summer, they re not cheap but my frame of mind is why scrimp on cheap footwear? its our bodies at the end of the day! Its funny how people will spend hundreds on a detector and then buy cheap foorwear Undecided

I have an idea for a much better version of these. A Deus coil strapped to each foot (Like snowshoes) and a control box for each coil in either hand. Expensive but  awsome!!!!  Grin

get yourself down to millets or whatever they're called now, should be able to get a pair if walking type boots that would do you for around £45.
