I have just got back from the inquest on my hoard of axe heads I found 13 months ago.
They were declared treasure ( surprise surprise  Cheesy).
The press were at the inquest and I was interviewed and photographed for story in Western mail and South Wales Echo. Should be in paper tomorrow. (famous at last!)

Congratulations - its a great experience.

Did they comment on the fact that there was a Palstave amongst the Socket & Looped types? It struck me at the time that it must be unusual (Idon't think I've seen a mixed variant hoard before) and probably marks a crossing over of styles.

Well done - a find we all dream of making

There was a hoard of bronze age axe heads found near Mold in 1989, they were a mixture of different styles too, there was also axe casting mould. I was only looking at them this afternoon.

The feeling was, while holding them with eyes shut, who last held them 3000 years ago?HuhHuhHuh

Enjoy the moment ,as you deserve it.....You have added another chapter to the history of British Isles...The axes would have been left to rot without your good work...I have been involved in few treasure troves and i always say the finding was more pleasurable than the reward...Well done and many happy years of searching Smiley

nice - I saw the report a few days ago - I think someone said it took 13 months for you to get to the inquest.

I'm on month 6 currently still waiting........

It's amazing what is still turning up in the vale. I've been finding bronze casting sprues recently, so I'm hoping I might find even one axe one of these days Smiley

Well done again

The inquest dealt with 5 treasure cases. The other 4 items were found before mine including one of them that was found in 2010.
So it looks like I am lucky it "only" took 13 months  Smiley
I have now got the long wait to eventully get a few pennys for them............
