Back on a Roman site yesterday a few grots, a bronze mount of sorts (Roman) and what would have been a stunning coin had the farm machinery not of put pay to it Angry Angry Angry, just a beautiful patina on it and recently damaged, it certainly has not been on the surface for a long time Sad

Looks like the stunning remains of a denarius of Elagabalus - Mars Victor reverse. The rest of it must be there somewhere......

I'm still trying to find a) the missing piece from a nice pelta brooch I found - if I'd had a pinpointer then I would have all of it Smiley and b) some more hammered - but I've think I've got a better chance with b) Smiley
