wonder if anyone could shed some light on this artifact, its a metal detecting find thats on sale on flea bay, looks to have some age about 2 1/2" in diameter and of brass..any ideas on age or origins, as its bugging the hell outa me

£265 Shocked The finder has cleaned it with brasso, that alone would put me off as it's lost any sign of age and could be modern. It looks as if it has "1620" on it and my bet would be a horse brass/mount, though with 30 bids it looks as if a few people know what it is.

no its a bit rich for my blood, but bet the heart thumped a bit finding that.but its a forgery but probably has a value but not £260 worth

Great reading ... However looks like you are looking at an original of what billy and charley would copy in lead???
