Kindest condolences to the whole family, I never met the gentleman and realise that many people have benefited from his presence.

It Is with great sadness this morning i hear of Alan,s passing.
I met Alan years ago after seeing a piece in the the Rhondda Leader about the RARE metal detecting club.
From the very moment i met him,his passion and dedication for Detecting was totally infectious, and we spent many hours chewing the fat.

Alan will be remembered for his numerous displays at the Pontypridd Cultural Museum, radio and TV appearances, organizing events to encourage youngsters into Detecting through the Museum and who can forget Alans seasonal job as Pontypridd,s Man in red himself Father Christmas.
Alan,s family paid a major part in his life and im sure he will be deeply missed.

God bless Alan.
