I recently found this interesting item in a job lot of bits and pieces I bought from auction. I thought it was rather unusual and I've never seen one before. I'm assuming it's contemporary with the dates the Imperial German Crest was used 1888-1918. I've tried to do some research but haven't really been able to find anything, so was wondering if anyone else has seen one like it and do you think it has military connections? I've listed it on ebay, but am in two minds whether I want to sell it, so might take it off.
Any thoughts?

I don't know anything about it Herbie but I'd say EBay isn't the place to sell it to get a good price. Have you thought about contacting one of the bigger auction houses. It looks to be high quality and someone 'in the know' might be able to tell you something about it's history and value.

looks highly interesting no way would I would sell it on E bay If you do want to sell try to research it and go to a good auction house
